Simulation hypothesis

From Plato to The Matrix, the concept that our reality was not the reality is not new. The simulation hypothesis posits that our reality may be a sophisticated simulation emerging from something else. If I play The Sims and make them play a video game, what proves I'm not a Sim myself?
